Carestream now offers gridded CR cassettes

Carestream recently released new Kodak Directview CR gridded cassette in sizes 35 x 42 cm. The cassette comes with an anti-scatter grid embedded in the tube side and can be used with the CR 825, 850, 95 and 975 system, as well as the Directview CR Classic and Elite systems. You will need the Grid Detection and Supression software to get optimal image quality while using the cassettes.

This cassette is perfect for intensive care units conducting mobile or portable chest imaging and emergency departments frequently imaging spine, hip and/or pelvis exams.

Competitor CR systems use a typical CR cassette with a sleeve or snap-on grid. These cassettes require the technologist to remove the grid prior to scanning the cassette and then replace the grid for the next exam. Cassettes with slip-on grids can be difficult to position under the patient without moving the grid. The Carestream cassettes have the grid built right in and are much lighter than competitors cassettes with attached grids.
