Carestream DRX-1 Wireless Digital Radiology System

Carestream recently released a product that we are VERY excited about here at InTelemed. The new DRX-1 is a revolutionairy DR system that is designed to fit into any existing x-ray room without modifications, and transform that room into a fully digital system. The DRX-1 consists of a battery-operated DR plate that fits into your existing wall or table bucky. It transmits wirelessly to the DRX-1 console, transmitting x-ray images in seconds - wall without cords, cables or a "tethering" system. Cost is expected to be in the $125,000 range, although official pricing has not been announced yet. Deliveries are expected in April 2009.

We think this is going to a perfect solution to many small hospitals and clinics who would like to implement DR technology, but cannot justify replacing their entire x-ray room. DR is faster and more efficient than CR, but in the past has been cost-prohibitive for many customers. Now they can take advantage of the speed of DR technology at a cost closer to CR technology.
